E4 first look…
The poisoner becomes the poisoned!
Vile Niall got a taste of his own vomit inducing evil medicine when his would-be victim John Paul innocently switched their cans of random brand beer. Who would have thunk it? Several hours of spewing later, Niall was found dribbling on the bathroom floor by Steph, who promptly made a fuss of him. Awww!
Off into the (fake) sunset
Unaware that he’d narrowly escaped a vomit stained death, John Paul set about being reunited with his lost love Bambi. Deciding that spending a couple of months getting over Kieron would be sitting back and doing ‘nothing’, he grabbed his passport and ran off in pursuit of Craig in a Sliding Doors/Especially for you by Kylie and Jason homage kind of way. Despite missed voicemails and postcard stands getting in the way, they finally declared their love for each other on the train platform, backdropped by a picture of a sunset.
The lack of a real sunset troubles us. Is the Hollyverse suggesting that their happy ending/love isn’t for real? Either way, off they skipped (or rather hurtled on a train) to Dublin to live happily ever after. Happiness in Hollyoaks? We wouldn’t bet on it!
Chester – a different planet?
As with the OB moving to London dramas, Craig’s return to Dublin once again proved that should someone leave the village then they are as good as moving to the other side of the universe. Despite a fair selection of transportation methods on offer in the world, should someone move to another city or – dare we say it – another COUNTRY, they have left your life forever. So good luck Bambi and JP with your new life in Dublin, exploring strange new worlds, seeking out new life and new civilizations, and boldly going where no man has gone before.
Awww x a million
Here at WLH we love anything involving Darren, particularly when it is one of his conversations with Newt. Today we were treated to the best and surprisingly sweetest ones yet, as Darren counselled the troubled youngster about the politics of bullying in the only way he knows how – taking the piss and generally being offensive (see quotes below). Despite this, Darren was, for a moment, genuinely nice and the pair bonded cutely. Ahhh!! And as if we needed any more reasons to love Darren, his footwear was an absolute joy to behold – zebra print cowboy boots!!! Truly, he is a dedicated follower of fashion.
John Paul and Craig miss each other in a split screen/especially for you stylee.
Quotes:
“Have you ever tried toning down the militant thing…sotftening the edges…not butching it up so much?” Zoe gives fashion advice to suspected lesbian Michaela. She gets a cupboard door in the eye soon after.
“Smudged your eyeliner? Crying cos you lost at netball?” Darren is, as always, Captain Sensitivity when trying to find out why Newt is upset.
“Look, you wear make up – even I want to beat you up.” Darren. As above.
Darren: “When I went to america they hated me cos of how I spoke. And when I came back here they hated me cos…I don’t know why they hate me”.
Newt: “Would a list help?”
